What the service does, and what it doesn’t.

Why an iPhone gets stuck

Activation Lock is an Apple security feature. When Find My is switched on, an iPhone can only be set up again with the Apple ID that was used on it. That protects owners, but it also traps people who simply cannot sign in: the password is forgotten, the old email address is gone, or the phone came from a seller who can no longer be reached.

414Unlock handles these cases as a managed service. You send the device details, our team reviews them, and once the request is approved and processed the iPhone can be set up again with your own Apple ID, on Wi-Fi.

Try the simple routes firstIf you can still recover the Apple ID, or reach the previous owner and ask them to remove the device from their account, that is the quickest and cleanest fix. Apple Support can also help owners who have proof of purchase.

After the service

A serviced iPhone behaves like a Wi-Fi-only device. Signal unlock is not available at this time, so decide whether that suits you before you order.

Which iPhones qualify

Our published prices cover the iPhone 6 up to the iPhone 16 series. Eligibility is confirmed before any processing starts, and it depends on the exact model, its iOS version and its status.

iPhone 6 to iPhone X

Older chip generations. Each model is only supported up to a certain iOS version, so a phone that has been updated past that point may not qualify.

iPhone XR and newer

Newer devices are handled by a different method and generally need to be running iOS 17 or later.

Find your details

Open Settings, then General, then About, to see the model name, iOS version and serial number. The IMEI is shown there too, or dial *#06# on the phone.

From wallet to finished

  1. Create and verify your account

    Sign up, confirm your email and complete access verification. Paid services stay locked until your account is approved.

  2. Top up your wallet

    Create a top-up request, pay the exact amount through SquashberryPay and submit the transaction reference. Credit appears after a person has confirmed the payment.

  3. Send your device details

    Choose the price band, enter the exact model and its serial number or IMEI, describe the situation and confirm that you own the phone or have the owner’s permission. An optional IMEI check comes first if you want to be sure before paying for the full service.

  4. Review and processing

    The team reviews the request by hand, then moves it through the stages you can follow in your account: submitted, registered, processing, completed.

  5. Finish on your phone

    When the request shows as completed, your iPhone is ready to be set up with your own Apple ID.

Common questions

Can I make phone calls afterwards?

Not over the mobile network. The phone works like a Wi-Fi-only device, so calls and messages go through apps that use the internet.

Can I get a version that works with a SIM?

Not at this time. All listed services are Wi-Fi-only after the service.

What does the IMEI check do?

It costs D150 and checks the device before you commit. If you go ahead with the unlock within 7 days of the check being completed, the D150 is credited against the unlock price. The credit can only be used once.

What if my iPhone turns out not to be eligible?

Eligibility is confirmed before processing begins. If the request is rejected at that stage, the amount charged to your wallet is returned automatically.

Will I need to prove the phone is mine?

Possibly. Account verification does not by itself prove you may service a particular device, so we may ask for evidence of ownership first.

Is paying through the site safe?

414Unlock never collects your card details or mobile-money PIN. You pay through SquashberryPay, and a person checks the transaction before any credit is added. A screenshot or a typed reference alone is never treated as payment.
